Float with the current—not against it.

As Hoover Dam increases its evening water release to generate power, river flow can rise dramatically—sometimes 4–10× faster than normal. We use the extra afternoon hours for waterfalls, hot springs, caves, and hiking. Then your guide times the return so the moving water can help turn the paddle home into a lighter, more effortless glide while the desert settles into cooler temperatures and golden sunset light.

The river is always in charge. Actual flow varies, and your guide adjusts the timing, route, pace, and distance for current conditions and safety. You still experience the complete Hoover Dam route; Heavy Flow simply gives you more time where it matters and a current-assisted return when conditions cooperate.

Every group can choose how much attention they want from the camera. Prefer to stay completely immersed in the experience? Just let your guide know. You can still receive the standard package of approximately 600 HD photos and a couple of edited videos without feeling like you are participating in a full photo shoot.

When requested, our guides can capture the experience naturally and discreetly—so you will barely notice the camera while you enjoy the river, the current, and the adventure.
