Hoover Dam – Full Day Tour FAQs

Jul 9, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Why choose this tour?

Our Hoover Dam Kayak Trip is one of the, if not the, Best Dam Trip in the World. Our trip is unique due to our above-and-beyond quest to see as much as we can on this absolutely amazing 12-mile stretch of the Colorado River. We make 4 extra Stops/Hikes/Rain Caves on this trip.

Guests could choose to experience ONE of these slot canyons on a day hike during winter, but it is not accessible during summer due to the heat. We see ALL via shortcut kayaking the Colorado River.

Where do we meet?

For all full day tours we meet at Willow Beach Marina. Just look for our friendly guides and kayaks! All tours will meet 1.5 hours before your scheduled launch time. (Las Vegas time)

Meetup Location: Willow Beach Marina

What do you mean you go further?

When we started out – we just took people to Sauna Cave, Goldstrike, Arizona Hot Springs, One Beach for a water break and back to Willow Beach.

At Goldstrike, we didn’t go up above waterfall to the Moss Wall, We didn’t go to Boyscout Canyon (if we did, we stopped at first waterfall), and we didn’t stop at Lone Palm Falls or see any of the 3-4 Rain Caves. It ads a couple hours to the trip but our guides are passionate about showing everyone as many of these wonderful places as possible.

Anything else we should know about?

  • Entry into Willow Beach is extra. Must have National Parks Pass or $25 per car. We get there before they open at 7:30 so you will not have to pay this. If you are late and past 7:30 you could have to pay.
  • Launch Permits are necessary. Please call us after booking to get your permits secured. Permits do sell out quickly depending time of year. We usually need 2 weeks in advance to make sure we can get the restricted passes to drive and launch from base of the Hoover Dam.
  • Each Guest must bring a copy of their ID or Passport all the way to Hoover Dam Lodge to be checked by National Park Service.

How much should we tip our guide?

Average Tip is $40-$60 per person. If you believe your guide did a great job, this is typically a tipping position.
